Emily Vitar is a Los Angeles–based artist working across photography, writing, and design. Working primarily with 35mm film, she photographs landscapes, architecture, and places of personal and cultural significance with an emphasis on light, texture, and atmosphere.

Her work extends into the spaces she creates and inhabits, including a home in the Hollywood Hills that serves as a setting for photography, film, gatherings, and creative projects, as well as an artist residency she co-directs. Her background in architecture and interior design, including her studies at UCLA Extension, informs an ongoing interest in the relationship between people, place, and the built environment.
